Elgin
Iterum builds new watches from vintage mechanical watch movements. A brief overview of the watch company Elgin is provided.
The company began as the National Watch Company in 1864 in Chicago, Illinois. The first factory was built in Elgin, Ill. and completed by 1866. The company's name was changed to the Elgin National Watch Company in 1874. US manufacturing stopped in 1968 and the name was sold. Elgin watches produced after 1968 have no connection to the Elgin Watch Company.
